Rio Solar Ltda. offers a full range of the services necessary for the implementation of renewable energies, including: planning, installation, and operation. In addition, related tasks and services such as; promotion, site-selection, consultation, yield prediction, financing, importation, and testing, are also provided. The primary focus for the company however is photovoltaic (PV) solar energy.

Rio Solar Ltda. was founded in 1998 in Rio de Janeiro Brazil, by Prof. Dr. Stefan Krauter with his former student Servulo Barros de Oliveira. Since then Rio Solar has realized many projects, several in Rio de Janeiro, as well as others in, Penedo, Duque de Caxias, Ilha Grande, and Ceará. Rio Solar has a core staff of 7 including: Prof. Dr. Stefan Krauter, MBA Nils Waterstrat, Eng. Servulo Barros de Oliveira, Maximilian Kern (Administration), Dr. Norma Blandon (Project management, Civil engineering), Jim Mac Donald (power plants), Ronald Stephan (management of large scale power plants), Alcides Rodriguez (Representative for Nicaragua).
